I have received some cash donations and I would like to post them on my firstgiving page to reflect funds donated.  There is a place to show offline donations how do I get that entered?

Hi Linda,

To enter offline donations, sign in to edit your page - the place to enter your offline total is on the same editing screen as you would visit to change your picture, edit your text, etc.

To get to that page, click on "Sign In" at the top right of your fundraising page and enter your email and password when prompted.  Then, click "Edit" next to the name of the page you'd like to work with, and then click the big blue "Edit Your Page" button.  That will bring you to the editing screen, and the area for entering your offline total can be found in the lower half of the page, on the right.  It's labeled "Amount raised offline."

When you've entered the total you've received in cash or checks, just click "Save and Continue" and it will update your page with the new total.

And thanks for being the first person to use our shiny new Community section!

I think it would be beneficial to have a section to list the donors who support us with cash/check and the amount of sponsorship. Perhaps this could be added to the fundraising page and would show equal reognition of those who choose to donate off-line; but when others view the page they would see the cash supporters as well. The page owner could still manually edit the off-line donation totals. This too would eliminate having to maintain a separate page for our off-line donors.

Hi Creed,

We're actually working on such a system right now - we hope to have it active within the next couple of months.

However, you don't need to maintain a separate page for your offline donors currently - you can add that information on your existing page, in the Personal Message section.

You can now add each offline donation to the chart on your page!

Check out how to in this post.

Hey I was wondering...last year I was able to go on and add to offline donations without filling out names and info. The only reason I liked this was b/c I have a "bucket" at the front of my restaurant for cash donations and not everyone leaves their name or info of course...if I were to just put it under the restaurant's name could I add to it, or do I have to make a new donation every time? Thanks!

Hi Becky,

The new offline donation management system breaks down each donation to be individual, so you can't add to an existing donation after it's been entered - but you can always make a weekly entry and name it something like "Restaurant donations week of 11/22" or whatever was appropriate.  That way, you won't have to be constantly adding donations each time someone puts a dollar in the bucket, but you'll still be able to keep track of your progress.  Additionally, it will help you track when you had a good week or a less good week, and see how anything you've done in terms of promoting your fundraising has affected donations.

Is there some kind of printable form to give to people who don't want to donate on line, and who do they make their checks out to?

Thanks,

Helen

Hi Helen,

While FirstGiving does not have printable donation forms (all donations made through FirstGiving must be made online), you may want to directly contact the nonprofit organization for which you are fundraising because the organization may have paper donation forms available for donors who want to give via check or cash. Any checks should be made out to the nonprofit organization for which you are fundraising.
