Today we bring you another fundraising Best Practice in Action from our weekly series. Each week we highlight an organization that has done an incredible job of promoting its online fundraising efforts with Firstgiving and show you how to do the same. This week's Best Practice is. . .

Lead by example—create your own fundraising page for your nonprofit, and ask your staff and board to do the same. Have a fundraising event this fall or a grassroots fundraising campaign going? Abby Mosher, founder of Tomorrow's Rainbow, organized an online fundraising event this year called The Five Drive. To encourage Tomorrow's Rainbow supporters to start raising money online right away, Abby took the lead and set up her own fundraising page as an example.

When fundraisers arrive at Tomorrow's Rainbow's FirstGiving nonprofit page, they see Abby's fundraising page there already, which makes it less daunting for them to set up pages, too.

So, to recap: Once you've customized your FirstGiving nonprofit account, get the ball rolling by being the first to create a personal fundraising page for your event or grassroots campaign. Then ask the other members of your staff and board to set up pages, too.Happy fundraising and best wishes for success!
