If donations made to your nonprofit are tax deductible, then contributions made to your nonprofit through the FirstGiving site are, too.

However, be sure to to communicate this to your donors by customizing your thank you message with the "tax deductible" verbiage that makes it legal to claim donations on taxes. To edit your thank you or matching-gift messages, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your nonprofit account.
2. Click the Emails tab.
3. Click Auto-Email Settings on the left.
4. Type your message into the appropriate box, then click Save.
